Waiting to be served at the bar

Brendan and Catrina hired HARD TO HANDLE band this month through an entertainment agency to perform at their wedding reception at the Holiday Inn, Doncaster. Leaving aside the fact that 1.) we are the “go-to” band for entertainment agencies UK wide, and 2.) hiring us direct from this website would have saved Brendan and Catrina £££s, they hired us after a comprehensive trawl through bands  on the agencys’ website. Apparently it was a Goldilocks moment – “this band sounds OK but doesn’t have a large playlist” – “this band is too large” – “but HARD TO HANDLE have everything we want!”

Nothing if not shrewd judges, the bride and groom were spot on – we sound great, we have a massive playlist of over 350 songs covering music from the 1960s to modern charts (rock, pop, indie, soul and more), you get to choose your favourite songs AND we provide a DJ free of charge on every booking!

Catrina let us know in advance that she has a large extended family, many of whom would be coming over from Ireland to attend. More often than not, when we hear this, we know there is going to be a real party, which, if you’ll pardon the pun, is music to our ears. It’s also the perfect time for us to break out our mini-Irish music set; so after performing the first dance (“All my love” by George Ezra) and other requests like “Living on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi and “Ever fallen in love” by The Buzzcocks, we kicked off the second set with “Galway Girl” by Steve Earl, which was a cue for the whole room – even those waiting to be served at the bar – to stop what they were doing and move onto the dance floor!

Let’s hear from Catrina and Brendan, who we caught up with on the night during the DJ set.
